Summary: Claudia Faierman-Shulman, President and CEO Sensational Learners, Inc., alongside Lucy Jane Miller, PhD, OTR/L, present a therapeutic approach using Video Self Modeling (VSM), enabling children to learn a new skill by watching a movie of themselves successfully performing the task. Ms. Faierman-Shulman and Dr. Miller describe the theoretical foundations of the approach, and guide the participant through the process of creating a video project. Video Self-Modeling has been shown to be a fun, effective, and an easy approach not only to teach skills, but also to build self-esteem and confidence, positively impacting children’s successes and independence into adulthood!

As a former executive vice president of Être Belle North America, she expanded its distribution channels to The Shopping Network, became EB's spokesperson on national television, and opened its flagship location on Bloor St. at The Holt Renfrew Centre. She negotiated and signed exclusive distribution agreements with European companies, collaborated in the design of marketing strategies and advertising campaigns, created and launched new products, and much more. In 2012, she founded Sensational Learners Inc., a company dedicated to the creation, design and marketing of educational games, toys and books. The primary mission of Sensational Learners is to provide parents with unique educational games that connect, engage and teach children challenging concepts in an entertaining way. Claudia's vision is to empower parents to enjoy their children fully and to help them feel good about themselves. She believes that kids learn best when they connect, relate and have fun! Claudia Faierman-Shulman is constantly incorporating new skills, information and trends into her work. During the last six years, she has devoted herself to expanding her knowledge in the fields of Autism, Sensory Integration, ADHD and other conditions that present sensory challenges. She has attended international conferences and workshops, and has read and learned from occupational therapists, speech language pathologists, early interventionists, psychologists and behavioral analysts. Her knowledge in these areas provides her with the tools to help kids and families improve their quality of life.
