Summary: This workshop is presented by Dr. Kay Toomey, the developer of the SOS Approach to Feeding program and Clinical Director of SOS Feeding Solutions at STAR Institute. Dr. Toomey presents how Intensive Sensory Therapy using Dr. Miller’s sensory therapy approach can help a child in an Intensive SOS Approach to Feeding program make more rapid progress in their feeding treatment. First, the characteristics of both Dr. Miller’s model and the SOS Approach to Feeding are outlined. Then an example schedule for an Intensive SOS Feeding Program is given. The symposium closes with data comparing and contrasting the progress children in an intensive feeding program make when they are receiving no Sensory Therapy, versus receiving traditional Sensory Therapy, or receiving Intensive Sensory Therapy using Dr. Miller’s approach. Presented at the 16th International 3S Symposium.
