OTPs face many challenges when attempting to design the most appropriate and effective care plan or treatment session of our clients. Cultural awareness, when lacking, is a barrier to practice, causing confusion, miscommunication, and potentially offending the client and/or client family. Conversely, when present, it can facilitate improved outcomes and client-practitioner relations.
This webinar will provide OT practice relevant insights into South Asian cultures provided by an experienced pediatric OT practitioner, Hiral Khatri, who identifies as a member of this community. Hiral will help guide OTPs in the awareness and inclusion of South Asian cultures as they pertain to development of client-centeredness in pediatric treatment to ultimately achieve better client outcomes.
